  • The soundtrack of Les Revenant is inappropriate so to have Mogwai's music in the show they had to tone it down so therefore to have a name with a cult following in France it allows more people to be attracted to them, this is called, addressing a pre-sold audience  
The American Marketing Advert 
  • The fast paced editing adds tension and drama to the advert
  • Jump cuts, are symbolic of its horror genre, dramatically dramatised compared to the actual version 
  • The Mes en Scene 
  • There is a focused contrast between violence and sex
  • The romanticised scenes of the Simon and Adele makes it also seem like a romantic film
  • They do not show all 8 of the main retuned as it would take too long, focus on parts that would not be as interesting and it needs to leave more to be explained in the show itself
  • The fact the DVD cover says 'The Returned' not 'La Revenant' is so American's may buy it assuming it is an American show 
  • The actual show itself is very slow paced and fairly dull, however, in the trailer, it is completely the opposite
  • The trailer is manipulative and it changes the plot The media product is distributed globally, it has to appeal to all those cultures, the French one is more elegant and delicate, with poetic traits, whereas the American one is a lot more full on  to appeal to them
  • David Gauntlet - the merch gives mega fans pride in wearing it

The Tide Advert

The hand drawn Mes en Scene instantly shows how dated this advert is.  The target audience is women aged from 30+, housewives.  The tagline is a very stereotypical and represents women as only wanting good washing powder and assumes that they are not allowed to have any other wants except Tide, it comes across demanding and persuasive as if Tide has not got what you want you're not a 'real' woman.  The sans serif font looks to be created by hand and the red has connotations of love and a love for Tide washing product.  The way the women is looking up, looking smitten and percing her lip as if ready to kiss to the box which is a proairtic code, also shows her absolute devotion to the washing powder.
