Audience - Consumers of the Media Product

The audience are so important as this is what the media product is sold to, no audience, no one cares. 
Different Audiences have different expectations
Passive Media - media that manipulates the audience and influences them also

Every Media Product Has a Target Audience

Primary Audience - The first target audience a media product is aimed it  
Second Audience - the second audience, those that the product is not aimed for (not primary audience) but still can enjoy

The subtle Mise en scene of the rifle on the girls back emphasis the lack of stereotypical references to a male young audience due to the gun being of muted colour and not even being shown in use, shows it is more about the story than the action, her facial expression showing sadness and worry, the setting of having the bright light at the end of the street could symbolise their trek towards hope/ a better life.  The intertextuality also resembles the walking dead and therefore is a post apocalyptic/horror/survival.  The game is seen as Atypical as the women is seen as more covered up and plain compared to other video game women like tomb Raiders Lara Croft.  The way you feel tat the two people are related is because of the age difference and the mans obvious concern to the girl by looking back to her.

Categorising Audiences  -A  Producer needs to use stereotypes/prejudice as well as ages, ethnicity and gender.

Primary Target audience is middle aged women and families.  the middle aged man may appear as a bit of a 'hunk', who can cook!  The lifestyle of being able to cook his curry with Tesco's ingredients.  The stereotypical representation of men not being able to cook in this advert this is being morphed into an atypical representation and also that it may be a simple recipe.  The fact he is aDad can be confirmed  due to the Mise en scene of the child's drawing on the fridge, he seems friendly due to the smile being a direct mode of address,  and him almost looking like he is about to give the food to you or that he made it for you and made with love.  The green walls show healthiness and the green in the curry.
