How Audiences read adbusters

Image
The preferred reading of Adbusters is to make the reader wake up and see what is happening in the world, the main example of this is the Louboutin Advert. Adbusters offers readers freedom from conventional magazines, it is being subversive Another use is that middle class audiences can identify with it They ant you to actively read it, they want them to act upon it, they don't want you to just read it, they want you to act upon what you are seeing, like Black Friday, they want you to buy nothing.  Inform the readers on the harsh reality of what is really going on Adbusters gives the audience a status, only a certain type of people will get what you are talking abou t It is a commodity It is hypercritical When extracts of books are posted in a magazine it is for publicity, so it is an advert, which Adbusters is all about NOT DOING.  The article is not well set, it is all off centre, words are slightly cut off at the top and bottom.  This could be to s...

Adbusters AGGGAIIINNN🙄

How do contextual factors shape their production, distribution, circulation and consumption of magazines? The Website is deliberately confusing and makes little sense with its messy layout with loads of hidden pages and weird back drops and music that plays on every page.  The website reinforces the brands identity of being whacky and unordinary and not stereotypically normal.  The website uses a sophisticated lexis and a range of fonts to really throw off the reader.  Adbusters sell merch but they are contradicting as they are selling merch and a book for £190 which is completely against what they stand for.  The website also offers sound and videos that the magazine could not offer.  The advantage of hyper links allows you to flow freely around from tab to tab to site to site.  What we are experiencing through this website is digital convergence.

Some pages in AB are completely blank with smeary words, it does not look professional, they want to criticise the prestien images in other magazines. ADBUSTERS LACKS ANCHORAGE.  If something has many meanings, not just one fixed one, it makes it Polysemic.  The layout is empty, mainly...
