Vogue Men article

Vogue Magazine was a monthly magazine which had very niché audience as the readers where rich enough to consider buying what was in these glossy magazines.  Vogue magazine does not have a direct mode of address as the model is not even looking t the audience,she is above them. Whereas woman magazine has a friendly direct mode of address and the model looks ordinary and kind, approachable.














The focus of this article is how men live their lives, how they dress and even how they think.  This is because it allows women an insight into men and also shows their importance as they have a whole page about.  It says tat men love nothing more then going out with other men for the night.  That men will not talk about you, they really like you, which is weird.  This all gives the TA an insight to what men 'truly' do and think, this is almost as if men are some sort of secret and that their secrets are out and this guide reinforces patriarchal hegemony as when men find more out about men , they can become better women, this also portrays a stereotypical viewpoint of men.

The large image, the dominant image is of a women above man, holding him down with her foot, showing she is now more dominant than men as she is smiling, while treading on a man who does not look as happy as the women, the way he is lying down looks petulant and in a strop.  This image is a very visual representation of dominance, however if it was the other way round it would be deemed very unexceptional.  The way the mes en scene of his crossed legged pose creates a role reversal and makes the image look slightly risqué,the pleasure this gives the TA makes them feel like they have power.  The quote in the middle in the circle, it also makes men seem cocky and one of the many subversive micky takes out of men
